Looks like certified XF-40 examples have been selling at auction in the $150-190 price range. Your purchase has lots of surface marks, impaired eye appeal, and less than XF detail. I agree you paid too much. For a similar price you should be able to find a better example.

The Coin Store Owner, who has also become a friend of mine agreed 100% and gave me a choice of my money back or store credit and I chose the credit but haven't decided on what I will get as of yet. He dropped the price on that coin and put it back on the shelf at Grade VF25.

Yes it looks VF25 to 30. The breast feathers near the beak are worn which will drop the coin from XF to VF. Other than that, the coin has good detail in all the other locations.
