17th century would be theoretically doable, I think, but would be a horrible mess. Honestly I expected the 18th would be easier than this.

@Spence - if I'm not mistaken, I believe you mentioned you had a US coin from 1794? It wouldn't (technically) change the count (any more), but it would bump out one of the two problematic issuers.

Ok, I played this coin early in the game

I've always had this catalogued as an Austrian Empire coin but today I found it on Numista under Silesia

https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces18843.html

1711 Silesia 3 kreuzers

That means Austrian Empire is free.

You can either move an issuer already on the list to a year that is free or swap out a year already taken with a new issuer that is not currently on the list.

e.g. if you have a Japanese coin from 1786 (there is currently no coin from Japan on the list) and an Isle of Man coin dated in any of the blank years on the list (let's say 1779) you can move Isle of Man to 1779 and slip your Japanese coin into the now vacant 1786 slot.

Of course it may take more than one swap to create the gap you need.

If you can increase the count you can swap as many coins as it takes to make your addition.

If you can't increase the count you can swap a single coin (which ideally would help someone else add a coin)

So to make a swap you need a coin with either a date or issuer that is not already on the list. Loonie can no longer swap his 1798 USA coin for the Azores coin in 1798 because there is now a USA coin in 1794 (i.e. USA and 1798 are both already on the list)

Remember at all times there can only be a single coin for each issuer and each year.

Please confirm @mmm, but I think that here is a pathway forward for adding another year:

I'd like to swap out this current coin listed for 1790, with this Heller from the Landgraviate of Hesse-Cassel (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pi...158882.html) and then slot in a Russian Denga dated 1734.

Ok think I can fill a couple more of our gaps potentially, but first I need to slightly modify what I did yesterday:

1. Swap in this 2 Liard from the Austrian Netherlands part of Belgium (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces3869.html) dated 1790 for the previous coin from Hesse-Cassel.
2. Swap out the 1746-dated coin from Sweden for this Heller from Hesse-Cassel (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pi...43185.html).
3. Plug in a Ore from Sweden dated 1719 (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pi...60264.html).
