Ever since the pandemic, prices of literally everything have gone up quite drastically.

I am not aware of many countries issuing higher denomination coins or banknotes due to inflation. Only one that I can think of is Uzbekistan. They issued new 2000 som coin and 200,000 som banknote in 2022.

Do you know of any?

Or I guess many government around the world want people to use cards...

Money laundering and tax evasion come to mind. A $100 bill has the purchasing power of a $10 when I was born. At this rate we'll have issue larger banknotes in the future but it's ways off.

Here's some I found with a quick flick through Numista.

Algeria have a 200 dinar since 2020, whereas there highest denomination was 100 dinar.
India issued a 20 rupee in 2019.
Kazakhstan issued a 200 tenge in 2020.
Liberia issued $5 & $10 coins is 2022.
North Korea issued 500 & 1000 won in 2022.
Philippines issued a 20 piso in 2019.
Turkiye issued a 5 lira in 2024.
Ukraine issued 2 , 5 & 10 hryven in 2018.
Yemen issued a 100 rials in 2024.

This, probably.

I recall reading that compared to the world at large, inflation in the US is almost insignificant. Not to say it does not exist here—it does—but probably not enough to consider shifting around our denominations to compensate.

Even if it became necessary, I do not see it happening. An argument against eliminating the penny and dollar bill is that the US dollar would be seen as pocket change. Adjusting our money—where the dollar is just a coin and the Benjamin is no longer the King—could be viewed as a sign of weakness. I do not see the powers that be allowing this to happen.

Personally it does not matter to me. I am de facto cashless now. And I do not want to hear the tinfoil spiel about being tracked. You are posting on a forum on the internet. They already know who you are.
