On understanding Wealth and Numismatics. To an average income collector $100K is like $1 Million. To the wealthy $100K is like spending $100. To the very, very wealthy $100K is like spending,.... well nothing. They are simply coverting $100K of worthless fiat dollars that loses value each year into a numismatic coin which gains value. As for me I am all in on Gold, Silver, and Numismatics.

That reminds me of a story. Sam wanted to talk to God, so he went up on the highest mountain in his area. He asked, "God, are you there?" God replied, "Yes, Sam, I'm here.". Sam then asked, "God, what is one hundred years like to you?". God replied, "Sam, 100 years to me is like a minute to you!". Sam then asked, "God, what is one million dollars like to you?". God replied, "Sam, one million dollars to me is like one dollar to you!". Sam then asked, "God, can I have a dollar?". God replied, "In a minute!".

I just hope one day I find one of these among a saucer of coins for 50 pence each in a junk shop in some little English town. There must have been a few people travelling between the UK and the USA who brought one back among their loose change, and their descendants might clear out the drawer one day. I've found several 19th-century foreign coins in lovely condition in junk bowls but never yet a key date!

Remarkable coin. Already at 22K+ bid. I think it has a goodshot at 35K. Thanks for showing that coin.

In my mind this coin goes for no less than $35K+, valued at somewhat more than PCGS 66RB w/Green CAC. It could get to $50k with the bp - maybe yes, maybe no. I'd be surprised if it went any higher than that, but I'm rooting for the seller that it does exceed $50k with the bp.

The coin went for $36,300 including the 10% buyers premium.

Thanks Steve. Greysheet in 66RB CAC Green is $26.4k for this one and it's guaranteed to hit 66RB CAC Green. The seller is likely a bit disappointed but it still did okay. I expected it to hit $50k though.

The result pales in comparison to the MS65+RD CAC Green piece that ended last Sunday realizing $49,496 w/Buyer's premium. Greysheet for it is $28.8k 65RD CAC Green (w/o the +) Here's that coin: https://www.greatcollections.com/Co...gle-Eye-Seal

Looking at the Great Photos side-by-side I prefer the RB piece. The uncertainty in the financial markets may have hurt but you never know. Here they are, RB top.
