Hello everyone!

I have my $1 gold coin from 1862 with strange error that I thought might it was a lamination peel or real error! I know most 1862 $1 gold coin valued around $300-350 average. I have no idea what this $1 gold coin from 1862 would be value?

Thank you!

Not an error, that is damage.
Probably only worth bullion value now.

It once had a hole that was inexpertly repaired.

Concur; it's a repaired hole. The difference in colour - and the extremely crude attempt at replicating the edge denticles - gives it away.

Unfortunately, such damage makes the coin highly undesirable to collectors, reducing the value to bullion value.

Severely damaged. I guess it's worth about $150 as it sits.
