I have just got some 50 cent pieces from an auction house and I believe some are attributed wrong. If you go to Coins and Canada they have one way to tell the difference and Saskatoon Coin has a different way,

I will post pics of the 1943's first and you tell me if it is a Near Date Near 3 or a Wide Date Far 3 or some thing else. Just 3 for now thanks.

I might be able to help, I collect Canadian 50 cent coins.

Canadian 50 cent coins are hard to distinquish the varieties as there were so many different striking dies for each year.
Also the last two numbers were hand punched adding to the confusion.
In 1943 alone there were 118 different reverse dies. This leaves the potential of numerous different narrow dates and
wide date varieties.
You could have a wide 4 with a narrow 3. There was also a flat back 9 and a rounded 9 which adds more varieties.
You could also have a wide date high 3 or wide date low 3.
This would apply to all 50 cent coins from 1941-1949
As Charltons go by only the last two numbers, then that is what we will go by for your coins.
If you just want to attribute by narrow or wide 3, then all yours are round back 9 narrow 3.

Nice photography by the way.
Makes it much easier than most we get.

Thanks JimmyD, but now you have me more confused, Charlton doesn't list a round back 9

I have them at
1 - Wide Date - Far 3
2 - Narrow Date - Near 3
3 - Wide Date - Narrow 3

Can you attribute them this way? Oh and thanks for the complement on the pics.

Who attributed your coins?
It is either a Wide Date or a Narrow Date.
How can you have a Wide Date Narrow 3.
All yours are Narrow Date or Near 3,
depending on which terminology you use.
Using your attribution, they would be Narrow Date- Near 3

Maybe this will help you in identifying varieties.
I mentioned that yours are the Round Back Variety
Here is an example of the Straight Back to assist you

There are also two styles of the 4 but it does not pertain
to the 1943 so I didn't mention it.
