Hello everyone, can anyone tell me what Trends pricing is for a 1947 Maple Leaf dollar with doubled HP in MS63? Thanks a bunch.

Thank you Johnnysprawl.

I'd be curious if anyone thinks if the 1947 ML dollar is worth an asking price of 25% over the C & C guide. Maybe C & C is just too low in this case? I know it's a tough coin.

C&C is not 'low', it is a summary of actual sales from auction houses, etc.

In my opinion, the 2024-2025 price is high, as coin prices overall have been coming down the past year due to inflation, etc.

That being said, silver dollars between 1945 and 1948 are the most sought after and usually sell at a premium.

If you were to pay 25% over the prices listed, you would be paying too much.
It states at the top of the page that those prices are from
the current sold prices which is usually a good factor of current value.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. As it turns out the coin, which was an ebay listing, sold so it is a moot point. The seller has been communicating with me and he had a strong offer so, unless someone bought it at the original ask it still sold for a substantial amount over the guide price.

In a way I'm kind of relieved as I have been trying to focus on my collection of fifty cents and this would have siphoned off funds which I have been saving for some of the tougher coins. I've already gone off my focus a couple of times this year and need to be better at sticking to the task at hand.

This is what CaC says about their prices in the lists ... "Values in the section are based on the market, trends, auctions and recognized books, publications and catalogs". The BEST way to see what the current selling prices are on ebay, going to "advanced" and then looking at the actual sold prices for any item. I always thought CaC prices high or "wished for"

Trends are merely a guide. It has been my experience that coins that are high end for the grade and/or have superior eye appeal will bring a premium. I would say this 1947 ML PCGS 63 double HP is a candidate.

Everest, the bottom coin what you posted is the ebay coin that I was interested in. If you bought it you landed a nice one. If you're the seller then I thank you once again for the excellent communication.

Neither buyer or seller. The photographs are the same coin. The first set are from Heritage where the coin
sold on February 28th of this year for $840. The second set are the PCGS glamour shot.

Everest - very interesting! I never would have guessed that they were the same coin. You have made me feel a lot better by missing out on this one, as the Heritage photos (which I trust way more than PCGS True Views) would have made me pass on it, mainly for the uneven toning. Thanks very much for posting them.

There is a lot to be said for seeing a coin in hand, as opposed to photos....
