Quote: Where in Mich. are you ? Probably in the lower half. I'm in the Soo. I'm in the northern Lower Peninsula, about 400 km away from the Soo. I used to live in Soo, Michigan and still have friends and relatives in and around the Twin Saults. Many, many happy memories over there in Soo, Ontario...especially Bon Soo, playing Euchre, and meeting at a Tim's or Country Style at any hour of the day or night for coffee and conversation. For a while, I drove a taxi and brought many people home "across the river"...getting to know both cities extremely well. I also used to play in the Sault Symphony Orchestra. The Christmas concerts at the Station Mall were my favourite events. At the time I lived there, the only bank in Soo, ON where I could use my American-bank-issued ATM card was the Bank of Montreal on Queen Street, so I used to buy rolls of coins there to search. The cent rolls always had at least 10 American cents, plenty of older dates, 1 or 2 of which were Wheats. George VI cents also turned up frequently. Those were some juicy rolls to go through.

Well now you could say we are neighbors almost, glad you know the area. I still go to that bank to get rolls but it is a bit out of my way.

Just searched another $5...would have gone for $10, but this nondescript lot was less than thrilling to go through.

Quote: Check out that 2006 Canadian, which one? It's a No P, non-magnetic cent. I'm starting to get genuinely curious about what might be lurking in my Canadian stash. Thus far, I've only gotten around to checking the Toonies for counterfeits.

2006 cents, what you want is 2006 no P steel or magnetic, and 2006 P zinc or non magnetic .

Just got done searching $8 more. The end is near...a box of 100 cent tubes arrived yesterday, and this mess will soon look like an actual collection. 2 Wheat cents: '46-D VF; '58-D VF 5 S-Mint cents: '68-S VF; '69-S EF; '70-S Lg Date EF; '70-S Lg Date AU; '73-S VF 2 2009-P cents: Formative Years in AU55 RB and AU58 RD 4 Canadian cents: '63 VF; '65 Small Beads/Blunt 5 VF; '74 EF; '84 EF 1 Euro 2 cent: 2004 Belgium EF 190 Bronze cents were in this lot. 39 Choice AU keepers turned up, starting with a pair of '74-D One or two more sessions, and the big jar will be empty. Next task: Going through the 1959-64 cents from this lot. 1959-D cents turned up with surprising abundance--how many will be RPMs? We'll soon find out!

Always fun to search that kind of stash. Good luck on the errors and varieties now that you have them separated and good luck with the rolls, those are good dates for varieties, lots of RPM's and some doubled dies too.
