I cannot believe this I was looking through and inventorying my friend's baseball card collection which she inherited recently. In between the pages of the cards I found these amazing treasures!!! I have never heard of fractional currency until now! This is quite the find and I'm super excited! Anyone who has any knowledge or knows some history about these items please let me know. I love learning!

I can't help you but someone here will give it a little time. But would suggest taking a picture of the note to the right all by its self nice clear image of both sides and repost to this thread. To the community

Sounds like a fun find. I agree that it would help to post close up photos of the note in question.

@nickelsearcher
I just looked at your fine woodworking and as someone who has made a good living selling furniture and knows the difference between cheap furniture and functional art, I have to say those are some of the most beautifully made pieces I have ever seen in my life. We need to chat.

I appreciate the kind comments Jennifer. I take a lot of pride in designing & building functional wood art pieces that will survive generations.

I shared some additional details with the community in this long ago thread:

The Fostoria piece is Depression Scrip. It is stamp scrip. Cash was tight due to bank failures and the 1933 Bank Holiday. Stamp scrip was issued to attempt to provide liquidity for local markets. In order to pass it on, the holder had to pay for a one cent sticker (essentially a tax) and affix the sticker to the face. It could be redeemed once three stickers were affixed. The additional charge was likely to defray the cost of printing.

The Fostoria notes are one of the most common types of Depression Scrip available.
