again, please ensure that you are posting the correct obv and rev of the same coin before I assess. your first obv is showing a slanted MM the second looks straight so I'm not sure. makes it difficult to authenticate. the B in VDB is hard to see but it appears that the crossbar in it is straight. a genuine Svdb it should be slanted. both the base of th D and B should be slated and they appear to be flat

The obverse photos look like the same coin, but one is rotated slightly. This one also looks authentic, mintmark position #4, obviously harder to see the VDB, but it looks okay to me. The hit on the date is in an unfortunate location, but I think it would also pass for a straight VF-20.

Panzaldi these are 2 completely different coins before I posted this one I took the first one and put it in my trash can so as not to be confused. I knew this one would be tough I can't tell you how many times I looked at this coin. The more I blow up the VDB the harder it is to see

I'll say VF for the grade.
Errers and Varietys.

There have been examples graded that have a weak variety of the VDB. I can't remember if they are labeled as "Weak" though.

99% of SVDB's exhibit a strong VDB. The hubs and dies were fresh. Usual to see one this questionable but the obverse seems to check out and a filled die is not impossible for this tiny device. I've seen very few weak VDB examples but they exist - this is the worst one I've ever seen. More concerning is the apparent scratch from the temple through the hair area. Once again, it seems to have toned over but it's extremely distracting in the "light" pictures - enough to easily detail the coin. I'd like to see better pictures of the obverse under "real" light conditions and some closeups of the area in question. Thanks for posting these! It's been fun!

This one came out of album #2 when I get back too that album I will try and get some more pictures of the area in question. Pictures taking is still a work in progress for me.

Is there a scratch there? It looks to just be a stain from the new pictures.
