Copper, red, black, brown, and gray are colors typically found in these errors. Coverage can be complete or incomplete. The copper can range from a slight tinge to a thick coating. BStrauss3 Pillar of the Community United States 4378 Posts	Posted 04/05/2025 11:33 pm Starting mid-year 1982, the composition of the cent changed from copper (technically bronze due to up to 5% of Zinc in the alloy) to copper-plated zinc. Dearborn Moderator United States 70317 Posts	Posted 04/06/2025 12:00 pm I see DDD on this cent, also not too sure of a Dryer Coin (unless it is an early one) It would appear that the highest parts of the design elements have extensive (possibly intentional) wear on it exposing the zinc core.
