This nickel was pulled from an UNC mint set. What would cause the window to look like this? Part of the machine at the mint(?)

Well this is a weird looking one.

did you pull it from the mint set? Was it from the annual set or another source?
I have to ask that because it appears like a well directed hit to the top of that window.

I pulled this from an annual set. No damage on the inner package or envelope. Which made me think it was struck by a machine or a part wherein the coins get packaged or held (maybe?)

When I play with the lighting and move the nickel around, I can see the hit clearer now. It looks as if the horizontal lines on this window wasn't well defined which made it look more odd.

Dearborn called it!
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

From the get go, all I saw was damage at the window area but that was not what caught my eye about this coin. I thought it was odd the recessed area on the reverse, circled in yellow, along with funny looking "lathe line" looking areas that I have red arrows pointing at. I do not think they are lathe lines at all just a descriptor. Then, on the opposing side, it is raised, also circled in yellow. Any ideas?

I thought about that, E&V but it does not resemble the obverse bust at all, it's just round.
