The coin in your pictures does not exhibit several features of an authentic coin.

Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me why you think it's fake?

Quote: Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me why you think it's fake? First, compare your coin to the genuine 1875-CC Trade Dollars on the PCGS website. Here are a few of the characteristics of the counterfeit. The dentils around the rim on both the obverse and reverse of your coin are inconsistent and wrong. The grains of wheat on the obverse are heavy and lack the detail of the genuine coins. Liberty's gown lacks the detailed folds of a genuine coin. The "CC" mint mark isn't the correct style for the year. The surface of your coin lacks the reflective "cartwheel" effect of a genuine coin. Your coin lacks die polishing marks. The color of your coin isn't correct for a silver coin, and has the appearance of chemically generated "toning". The reeding on the edge of your coin is incorrect and inconsistent. And your coin matches the known and common Chinese counterfeit Trade dollars. If you took your coin to a jewelry store and had it XRF tested for metal content, it would not be .900 silver and .100 copper, with some minor trace elements. I suspect it would show lead, tin, zinc and some minor silver plating. Either the weight or specific gravity would be incorrect for a genuine coin. Trade dollars are heavily counterfeited, and most of the known counterfeits are cast Chinese counterfeits with added rolled-on edge reeding, like your coin. I hope this helps.

Your counterfeit has a number of issues, and many of them pointed out by @fortcollins. There is a simple tell that makes it a one look counterfeit. The reverse has a mixture of type 1 and type 2 features that did not happen any of the Trade dollar business strikes. Circled in blue is the eagle neck feathers that touch the eagle's shoulder. This is a type 2 feature as the type 1 neck feathers do not touch the eagle's shoulder. Circled in blue is a type 1 feature the arrow tip is between the 2 and 0. Another type 1 feature is the leaf position between the 0 and F. I call this counterfeit the spaghetti neck feathers.
