At 63 years old, and 26 years of ebay (lots of buying and selling) I have never had a package go missing. USPS decides to do a Double Whammy on me and lose 2 of my packages pretty much at the same time. (1) Amazon package from California & (2) ebay package from Arizona. I submitted a missing mail claim on both on the 24th. ebay package shows a (suspect) scan on 25th, nothing since. Amazon still nothing. Amazon has refunded me, told me to do whatever I want with the item if it ever shows up. Have been in constant contact with ebay Seller, ebay already released the funds. I guess I'll give it a couple more days.....

I hope they somehow show up. That really stinks.

Lame. I have to say (knock on wood) that USPS has been great about scanning my ebay envelopes recently. Earlier this year was terrible. Although, I did have a USPS ordinary mail envelope go missing. Disappointing, as I'm pretty sure it was an RPM coin in decent condition.

Bummer. Seems like Amazon will always refund NQA. We had a shipment go missing several years back—UPS, not USPS— and they refunded us. However, it finally showed up a few months later; we had forgotten what it was. That was before Amazon was using their own delivery here. Since then, nothing has ever been late or missing from them. As for ebay... Late? Yes. Missing? Not yet. At least tracking always shows where it was stuck.

I consider it still missing as it took me submitting a missing mail claim to get them to post a questionable scan. It's been 6 days since that last scan and still no other scan. No estimated delivery date update. Nothing. Last scan was in TN, I'm one state east in NC. They cant move it one state in 6 days? Post Service has steadily gone down as prices rise. I recently bought from a seller on this forum who promptly shipped Priority mail (supposed to be 3-4 days). Took 9 days from Idaho to NC. Another Postal failure.......

It's frustrating and I bet the packages show up at the delivery address or shipped from address eventually. About 15 years ago I shipped an item that was returned to me after 2 or 3 months! Never actually had one lost, yet.

Can only reflect on my own experience... I'm a somewhat frequent buyer on ebay, and a low volume seller too--have been for several years averaging around 18-20 transactions monthly, and those transactions involve the USPS. Over the last two years, I had one hiccup with USPS as a seller--item was misdelivered. Fortunately, the item was 'recovered' and properly delivered the next day. One other item was routed across the entire eastern seaboard, and was finally delivered to the buyer 10 days after it was mailed (should have been a 3-4 day event per USPS standards at the time). As a buyer, I've had one item 'disappear'--never received. Seller made good on the issue and all was well. All-in-all, my USPS experience has been decent. Wish I could say the same about UPS (a few misdeliveries and two packages broken into/items removed while in transit) and FedEx (a few more misdeliveries).

My reliability ranking is USPS > FedEx > UPS. I will say that I cannot fault my regular UPS driver, he is Johnny on the spot. My problems—and they are numerous—have always happened well before the last mile.

I've had numerous experiences with both Fedex and UPS delivering my packages to one of my 3 neighbors. I've been able to retrieve them. USPS until recently has been the most reliable. Just a couple months ago I'm sitting here waiting on my mail (2 ebay packages). I get the email from ebay that my packages were delivered. Get out to mailbox...only 1 package. Check informed delivery, shows both delivered. I chase down the carrier who said I only had one package, and my neighbor had one. She had to turn around and go get my package out of neighbors box.

A shame it seems to have come to this.

Quote: A shame it seems to have come to this. My regular mail carrier told me she's hoping for a new PostMaster General. She said The current one is using trains and trucks (no planes) to move mail. That could explain the chaos. Day 7 since last scan (after filing missing mail claim) and nothing further showing on informed delivery....

Here's a typical routing experience in my locality : Arrives in Memphis, visits 3 different postal locations, departs & visits Olive Branch, MS, then back to 2 Memphis locations, still traveling around with no expected delivery date ... ...this item left Florida, should have gone to Memphis (2 days), then to me in Germantown TN (one day later) ...
