70 was the most common - and yes it did say between 65 and 92. So best of luck if you send it in!

What an excellent find! Congrats!
If it is an SMS, that's even better!

It came out of a SMS. Doesn't mean that it is one but we will find out when PCGS gets their hands on it

The edge shots looks relatively normal, (nicely formed reeds) Can you do that again, but with another quarter of similar year with it to get a perspective of any thickness changes.

If it were struck on a dime planchet, I would expect the permitter devices to be much closer to the edge

Remember, the dime stock blanks were punched out in 1970 and fed into the minting machines. Your coin was minted 5 years before that happened so chances are slim.

It happened quite a number of years.

Were the clad dime and quarter sheets even separate rolls in the warehouse? Or was it one clad metal sheet just machine rolled to a specific thickness prior to punching?

That's what confused me for awhile too - but it wasn't struck on a "Dime planchet" - the blanks it was struck on were punched out of "Dime thickness stock". Allegedly.

Error-ref is giving errors today. I didn't find anything else online about how to tell the difference between rolled thin and struck on the wrong stock.

Their SSL cert is expired. I messaged them about this via the contact form a few days ago.

Sorry for the questions but when I send it to PCGS, do I put struck on 10cent stock as the error?
