*** Your reply was split into its own topic for the proper attention. ***Hello everyone. Been gone a long time. Life can be a pain sometimes. Going through all my old posts, I have a collection I have yet to post for y'all's perusal. This is my dad's collection of his travels throughout the yrs. He was a fighter pilot and traveled pretty much everywhere in the world in his 35 yr career from the 40's to the 70's. If anyone want pics of any certain coins I will do my best to get them as all have been put back in their storage cases.

@bestjet, I split your post into its own topic so you can get the best responses for your coins. (BTW - your image is upside-down)

Nice assortment, Bestjet. Your father must have had quite a career. If you post pics of the unknowns we will gladly help you with identification.

Thanks everyone, and I posted the right side up pic before I saw Dearborn moved it. Errers and Variety's ,thanks for your sympathy but it's been 30 yrs now. And yes he had quite the career. Can't imagine getting into a fighter every morning for your morning drive at work. I could go on about it for a very long time, but it's late tonight so I'll just have to wait. And Hondo Boguss, I will get the unknown up tomorrow. And thank you Dearborn.

My sincere condolences and total respect for your fathers service and all others who have honorably served. Shame he didn't acquire one of the WWII escape gold kits. They were a set of gold coins and rings sealed in a rubberized package intended to be used as a bartering tool should the pilot be shot down over enemy territory. I often wonder how many of these sets are still undiscovered from shot down aircraft.

you are welcome @BestJet. When I split your topic, I gave it a slightly different topic name, I hope you don't mind that I used your Father in the main title. And so far you have a great start on a world coin collection. Most us us that have collected world coin use Numista.com to help identify coins and also to document what you have. I would love to se you post each coin you have so far individually, so we call all see them better. in addition there is another topic for world coin collectors. You can see it in the link below: How Many Countries Do You Have Coins From?As you add coins to Numista, it fills in the world map as you go.

Omg Dearborn, no I don't mind. I still need help. I'm still new even though I have time as a member. And I'm old and forget stuff. And MisterT, thank you and like you, thanks to all who served. A lot I wish I had talked to him about, which includes what you brought up. 3 different wars and I don't know much about anything. He died young at 69 and that was in 1996. But, I will put up the unknown coin today and Dearborn, those coins in the collection are not all from each country. It would overwhelm the space but I will if you think I should?

I'll be looking out for that unknown coin as for posting up your coin, This is a forum for coins - we Love to see coins, post our coins, talk about them. I think you should at the very least post up a few of them. You could post them here in this topic - but lets leave it up for a vote from the Masses... What say you all? should BestJet post up his coins or not?

Quote: should BestJet post up his coins or not? Absolutely! It honors his father to have us discuss the coins he acquired in his travels in service of our country.

Ok everyone. Here is my 1 unknown. I'm trying to get my laptop and scope together figured out all my other stuff was desktop. This is off my phone right now. Hope it's visible. The obverse and reverse are the exact same. Only know the difference because I forgot to rotate the first again. Thx everyone I will get on the others later today. Gotta take the wife shopping.

I do not know what that is - but it is not a coin, maybe a token. I notice that the on the 2nd image the design elements are raised, and on the other side they are incuse and seem to match up with the raised design.
