I see these marks on current Jefferson nickels with some regularity. I had always assumed they were just bag marks, but on other threads, folks have described similar features as strike thru events. So which is it?

This one is definitely a bag mark - metal appears to have been pushed up on the F and the mark on the T seems to be a continuation of it.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures
