I rarely pick up rolls at the bank, but I was there on other business late last week and asked the teller if they had any customer wrapped coins in their drawer. Yes - she had five rolls of dimes. I decided to purchase them and put them aside. Finally got around to opening them up last night. Three rolls contained the usual circulated clad Roosevelts. Two contained what was obviously a collection dump. I don't have photos, but here is what I found: Six Canadian dimes - one silver 1959 One 1967 Roosevelt - looks like an uncirculated SMS Eight Barber dimes - circulated including an 1897S Twenty-two silver Roosevelt dimes from 1959-1964, all uncirculated The balance was Mercury dimes varying between 1916 and 1945. Some of the 1940s are uncirculated. No key dates, but quite a few branch mint coins from the teens and twenties. Needless to say, I had fun and filled several holes in my Mercury Whitman folder. I am always inspired. I just never step up. I doubt I would ever see the success I had in the 90s.

Quote: obviously a collection dump. Yes clearly--a bummer for someone else, but great news for you. Glad to see you filling some holes in that Whitman!

I appreciate the enthusiasm of my fellow forum members! I guess this shows that there is still a reason to grab rolls when the opportunity presents itself. Over the past couple of decades in my area, finding anything of note in rolls has been like lassoing Pegasus. Now, I have my friends and family asking about 2025 Lincoln rolls whenever they go to the bank.
