NumisRob Bedrock of the Community United Kingdom 16747 Posts	Posted 06/10/2025 05:08 am I've sometimes cleaned pre-1992 bronze UK 1p and 2p coins that I've found with my metal detector to make them spendable, and they've ended up looking like that. Generally now I just use them in slot machines as the tiny face value of the coins doesn't merit the effort required to clean them.
