Here's a coin that was blast white when I bought it. It was slabbed in '92 or '93 because of the strike through error and toned (and continues to tone) in the ANACS slab.

As I've watched this one over the years, I can say this IS natural toning.

I like that you get some nice toning on coins struck with grease filled dies. Here we have pink, purple and blue toning on this 1939 Struck Through Grease error Lincoln Wheat cent.

This 1913-A Prussian Zwei Mark came in today's mail.

The reverse is nicely toned blue, gray, gold and violet.

This monster toned 1780 Maria Theresa restrike came today.

The colors are wild: gold, blue, red and violet. There is an untoned Y streak on the reverse.

I am leaning toward it not being artificial toning, since it has a blue rim around the obverse, but can't be 100% sure.

Whatever the case, it is colorful and it didn't cost me much over silver content value.
