9 Millennium notes from an auction arrived today and there was a pleasant surprise.

Found one rare high value RED Serial (only 500,000 issued).

RED SERIAL NZ 00810409

The lower one shown has a nice number 00033222

Those North Korean notes are pretty neat. Would have thought they would have had the "supreme leader" on them. 2008, probably would have been his dad's reign.

Great additions to your North Korean note collection, LongBeard. And beautiful Zambian and New Zealand notes, Bas!

NumisRob, while I kept a lot of pre-Euro coinage during my years living in Europe (1998-2005), I regret I didn't hang on to more of the notes. That's a great 200 franc note!

I don't collect world banknotes, and these aren't truly "new" acquisitions; however, I just found these last night in a scrapbook my Mom kept on my Dad's career in the Navy.

@Bas S Warwick Sharp looking note! You say this came from a thrift store. Are you talking about a store like a Goodwill we have here in the states?

Similar. We have many charity/thrift stores like Salvation Army, Hospice, church, etc. I'm not finding so much recently, but I have had some quite unusual notes come along in the past. There are also some markets that occasionally have coins and notes.
