Some may recall I got a bag full of common date circulated Ike dollars at a local bank for face value. Was looking through them recently and came across a nice surprise. Had thought "wow that's an unusual color" and, sure enough, it's a silver variety. A good honest Ike that did quite a bit of time in circulation despite its rarer metal content.

MS-65 is nothing to be ashamed of.

Great finding a silver Ike!

...So I finally searched the 1976 Ike's. Here is what I found.
The rest seem to be type 2 but like 85% or them have full bell lines. Need to research more information so I can know what to do with them all.
Sorry for the pic still cannot get the lighting right and still waiting on my new scope.

A Full Bell Lines designation is something grading companies apply to Franklin half dollars. These were notorious for wearing of or not being fully struck on those halves.

And if you were referring to having them graded...the first time you send a coin to PCG or NGC will cost you close to 200.00 (NGC slightly less) for membership fees, insurance, mailing both ways, and any other fees for services such as designations for varieties (and you have to check to make sure they will recognize and label the variety you desire to have slabbed). You would really be in the hole financially over these.

See the essay in my signature for a real eye opener concerning these companies. A person using these companies needs to be equipped with a lot more knowledge than just simply thinking it's simple to send in any coin and get the results they expected.
How much squash could a Sasquatch squash if a Sasquatch would squash squash?

Thanks, jbuck. Unfortunately the packaging does not photograph well.

The one in my Dansco was cut from a mint set, so know how well they look compared to ones that managed to circulate.

I came across a small box with old coins I had accumulated and found this bicentennial Ike dollar. It's in decent shape.

Yeah, the first one I posted is from the uncirculated set but this one has been around before it ended up in my pocket. I've had it for many years.

Thank you. It has two colors on the edge so I assume it's copper and nickel but that's okay.
