I received this coin today and noticed a mark by the M on DIME. I'm somewhat new to coin collecting and don't know much about errors. Just looking for any info on it such as value and what kind of error it is...

P.S. Sorry for the bad scan of the obverse. The dime is from 1964.

Hi Glyth

Looks like a die crack !! these are relitively common and dont add much to the value of the coin,

Your dime with the wear I see in the hair and torch makes the coin a VF grade coin,, this makes it worth basically bullion value somewhere around .90 .

It looks like it might be raised and struck through which would make it a Retained Cud, similar to the 3 cent coin I posted some time ago.

The part under the M is raised higher so that sounds right. I'm guessing that's a common error too then and in the same price range?

No Glyth

These are a bit more uncommon, but they have a limited market, to the right buyer a coin like this could fetch several dollars.

its very hard to put a price on a coin like this, since it will really depend on buyer interest.
