Nice finds indeed. It seems like hanging on to "W" coins and silver are the biggest finds everyone is reporting. Do folks find errors or other varieties worth keeping, too?

Stay well,

Had a good day today. I searched 12 rolls of quarters and found a 1946 D and a 2020 W Tallgrass Prairie! That's my third silver this month!

A quick question:

Did the Mint make any 'W' quarters for 2021?

I just got a full uncirculated case of Tuskegee/Alabama quarters (I think all are 'D's) and don't know if I should open every roll up and check or just toss them back into circulation.

PS: Never mind; just found a Coin World article online which says "No".

My bank was good to me today. I searched five rolls of quarters and found a 1952 Washington quarter.

Here's a brief update on that entire box of 2021-D Tuskagee quarters I got last week.

After opening just one roll for the five quarters I needed (5 sets) I decided to see if I could swap the rest for 'fresh' rolls at one of the stores I used to work at. The Head Cashier had 30 rolls that she swapped with me and bought another 10 rolls she needed for $100. I also sold one roll to another customer who wanted one.

So, now I've got 8 rolls remaining of the 2021-D's, and 30 new bank rolls to search through. Well.......of the 30 new rolls (Loomis Rolls) 14 of them were SHORT. Instead of the 14 missing quarters, I got 8 dimes, 1 nickel, and 5 pennies. Now this is something I'd expect if I was going through customer rolls, but to me it's a surprise to get bank rolls in that condition.

I'll go through the quarters tomorrow to see if I can find any AU's I still need. Also, I might pop in to my old workplace and yell at my old boss about the $2.60 he shorted me.

PS: Has anybody else here been shorted like this; and to this extreme (almost 50% of rolls)?

Ouch! Something wrong with their sorting machines, maybe?

Over the decades I've had a few commercial service wrapped rolls (Loomis and others) come up with a few mixed coins imbedded, but not nearly to the extent you described.

This is a very rare occurrence, but it's not unheard of.

Something similar happened to me one time with a Brinks box of nickels a couple of years ago. I forget the exact details, but it was like your situation. About every other roll there was a penny replacing a nickel, and there were also a few dimes. I do remember I ended up being around 75 cents short total.
CRH Nickeloholic. 1,300,000 nickels searched in five years! Already have found THREE complete Jefferson sets!

I searched five rolls today and found four S NIFC quarters. 1 Block Island, 1 Effigy Mounds, 1 Ellis Island, and 1 Lowell. The "s" mints are harder to find than the West Point quarters IMO, so I think I'll go back and get more rolls from that branch to look for more.

Just completed the last case of quarters I bought; here are my stats:

First off, my original box was 100% 2021-D Tuskagee's. I opened one roll and took five coins for my five sets. Of the remaining 49 rolls, I traded 30 for 30 other (different) rolls, and sold eleven for cash ($110). I now have eight pure rolls of uncirculated 2021-D's.

Of the 30 rolls of 'new' quarters, 389 were eagle reverses, 7 were 1976 drummer-boys, 403 were the 1999-2009 50-States quarters, and 387 were ATB's.

NO pre-1965, NO 'W's, and NO 'S's. As I said before, 8 dimes, 1 nickel, and 5 pennies (one wheat).

63 coins of the new rolls were 2021-D's (NO 'P's)
111 were 2020's, 15 were 2019's, and 26 were 2018's.
The 2020's were made of 53 Virgin Islands (45 of them 'P's), 44 Vermonts (39 of them 'P's), and 14 others (10 'P's).

Not sure why most 2020's were Phillies but all 2021's are 'D's.
I was able to pick out 33 coins total as AU's for my sets.
