The weight is on the high side of normal, Most likely Sterling at 92.5 instead of 90 % The reed count is off by a few. The diameter is within tolerance as is the thickness. It is also a struck coin not a cast.

Someone spent some time to make this, so there are with out question more out there.

Well, it might be interesting to know just what are the parameters that disqualify the coin as being genuine..... is it the slab? the reed count? the bubbled topography of the fields? Has it been determined beyond the shadow of a doubt that the reverse is that of the 1884 v-5... or is it just very similar? Is this the only known example?

The reed count on this one is a count Never used on any known Morgan. So counterfeit is the word
