Just received the advance notice for this coin.

In the words of my wife... "where's the coin?".

I'll admit, it's a great looking trinket - but not at all my style. The Star Trek Gold Shield was a stretch for a "coin". This takes it to a whole new galaxy.

Yes, agree - looks good to be displayed as scaled model of vessel from the Sci Fi, near with similar models.

The Dinoco 400 Piston Cup NASCAR medallion by RCM is "more coin" than this coin.

I already bought the Romulan B-Type Warbird coin and it got lost in the Canadian mail.
Perhaps it activated a cloaking device.
I am told it can show up at any time unexpectedly.

What I have just realized is something rather bizarre.

I used to be TheNickelGuy here not long ago and thought I should just shorten it for myself and others who would point my way or quote me here.

So I became TNG. I just had an odd galactic ah-ha moment when I realized that Trekkies refer to The Next Generation series of Star Trek as TNG.

Rest in Peace

IMO, that's a rather poor rendition of the Enterprise. To my eyes, it's almost unrecognizable as the ship from Star Trek.

My free opinion: RIDICULOUS that this called a coin.

So here are some suggestions for future Canadian coins...

Silver maple leaf base on a functioning LED lamp - 500 dollars face value.
A silver functioning iPhone or Samsung Galaxy - 1,000 face value.
A silver functioning Tesla motor vehicle - 100,000 face value.

Not Canadian but a Blackberry would work.

It looks like a tree ornament.

You joke, but we all know this will probably happen at some point.

I boldly went where no man would go and took the plunge and picked one up. Used my Master Club Reward cash and got it for $853.95 CAD at 3 easy pays. Hopefully it will look better in hand than the RCM pictures. I know it's not a coin but it will go on display with my other figurine type coins in my new Condo.

I feel embarrassed for the RCM
I've seen better "art" come out of a kindergarten class room.
Had they even half tried this may have been a nice addition to a Trekkies shelf but this ....THING is ridiculous.

As I type this I find myself actually getting angry that the RCM would flog this crap and spam my in box with it.

And to think just yesterday I answered the poll saying I believe that the RCM had hit bottom....Who knew

And just for reference to see what is possible if you were to actually try.

The shape of this "coin" looks no where near what the starship really does. Saucer section is below the engines, and above the body, not all on the same plane. How could they miss this. Given, it would probably be harder to mint in the correct shape. But... still wrong.

I agree 100%.

The artist really doesn't have a clue on what the Enterprise looks like. Well I guess it will have to do as a paper weight.Lol

I'm mildly curious how this thing will look in it's 'capsule'. None of the pictures I've seen show a capsule.

Also, how will it look in a few years if it's freed and allowed to tone?

@CC-Ottawa

Hey you might have something there. It might look spectacular with the proper toning. Can't hurt or get any worst.
