Well, today has been a great day with a huge load of silver coming in!

25 Pul, Afghanistan (1331)
50 Pul, Afghanistan (1332), (1331) x3 & (133(0); date error)
2 Afghanis, Afghanistan (1340) x2
5 Afghanis, Afghanistan (1340)

1 Rial, Iran (1342)
25 Paisa, Pakistan 1964
1 Kurush, Turkey 1951
5 Cents, Ceylon (Sri Lanka) 1942
1 Dime, US 1964-D & 1916-D
10 Feninga, Bosnia & Herzegovina 2013
1 Baht, Thailand 1962
1 Mark, Germany 1961-F
2 Mark, Germany 1958-G & 1965-G

20 Euro Cents, Slovakia 2009
1 Euro, Spain 2000
2 Euros, Germany 2002-F
1 Yeni Lira, Turkey 2007
1 Lira, Turkey 2009 (x4)
20 Rappen, Switzerland 1939
5 Franken, Switzerland 1933
5 Schilling, Austria 1961
10 Schilling, Austria 1957 & 1958
50 Schilling, Austria 1976
100 Schilling, Austria (1974)

For a measy 166 kr for all of this, I'd call it a great win! The two large Austrian coins cost 50 kr each, the rest 66 kr. New deliveries are the best! Just looking through a large box of coins which no one else has tounched (from the look of it) is amazing!

It's gonna take a while to beat this!

Wow! Please could you post a larger picture of the 1916-D dime?

I have no idea what I thought I read yesterday, but I completely missed that a 1916-D is in the list.

A genuine 1916-D is still going to be worth a few hundred US dollars in the lowest grades.

No apology needed X2an. That was a great April Fool's joke.

Nice one!

Would have been better if I had noticed it sooner.

Well, another week comes to completion and another visit to the market is made. Today's batch is nowhere near as fabulous as last week but it's essentially stuff I (and other market goers) left behind from last week.

5 Cents, Malaya and British Borneo 1961
10 Cents, Hong Kong 1959
5 Cents, Phillipines 1964
5 Kurush, Turkey 1949
1 Lira, Turkey 2009

5 Rials, Iran (1342)
25 Pul, Afghanistan (1349) & (1331)
1 Afghanis, Afghanistan (1340)

For 18 kr. These last two visits have notably increased my Afghanistan collection, I only had a single, sad coin from before. Furthermore, does anyone know why this 1 Afghani (and the 5 from last week) look so proof-like? As they apear to have been minted in the 1960's, coins with mirror finish like these should reasonbly only be proof, right?

Nonetheless, I'm satisfied with this week's finds

Better than leaving empty handed.

Another nice and warm day (for once!) but not much new to be found. But I still feel very satisfied with today

25 Pul, Afghanistan (1330) & (1331)
5 Cents, Netherlands 1948
50000 Lira, Turkey 2003

1 Dinar, Serbia 2016
5 Dinara, Serbia 2013
1 Mark, Germany 1968-F
5 Convertible Marka, Bosnia and Hercegovina 2009

1 Lira, Turkey 2009 (x2) & 2010

The Bosnia and Hercegovinan Convertible Marka is interesting: like the the Central African and Western African Francs, this currency is bound to a pre-euro currency, namely the Deutschemark. As it has been replaced, it follows the same conversion rate as the Deutschemark, at about 1 DM = €0.50. Which makes the 5 KM coin equal to 5 DM, or about €2.50. Also, I didn't have this one before! I did also not realize how large it was until I got to hold it! (30mm)

Well, sadly nothing new today. Things have certainly dried up from the last couple of weeks. Perhaps something next time?
