George VI Ten Cent / Dime General Grading Standards G4 Good - Only a silhouette of George remains. VG8 Very Good - Only the outline of hair and ear remains. The eyebrow is worn away. F12 Fine - The eyebrow and cheekbone are worn away. A bald effect is starting, with very little hair detail. The outline or the ear has flattened. VF20 Very Fine - The eyebrow is worn away. The ear and hair wave above the ear have lost detail and are starting to flatten. There is wear on the cheek bone and no mint luster. EF40 Extremely Fine - The eyebrow, the pinna and lobe of the ear, the wave of hair above the ear, and the top part all show wear. The only mint finish remaining is between the letters of the legend. AU50 About Uncirculated - Slight traces of wear on high points. Fifty percent of mint luster still remains. AU55 About Uncirculated - Very slight trace of wear will appear on the high points, the hair above the ear, the eyebrow, and ear lobe. Seventy five percent of mint luster still remains with signs of slight disturbance. MS60 Uncirculated - No traces of wear. Hairlines, contact marks, and blemishes are present on all parts of the design. High degree of luster that may be slightly disturbed. MS63 Select Uncirculated - No traces of wear. Will have minor hairline scratches, contact marks, and blemishes. Will have original mint luster. MS65 Gem Uncirculated - No traces of wear. A nearly perfect coin with very minor hairline scratches, contact marks, or blemishes only in secondary areas. Will have full original mint luster.
