It is a Joan of Arc medal. Jeanne D'Arc. It looks old. Some old designs of Joan of Arc medals have been reproduced.
I am a fan of Joan of Arc and have a few. I looked at many. I have not seen this reverse. A size would be helpful and if it is silver it should be marked as sterling. Unless there was a loop and it was removed, it could be a nice collectible and worth a good amount of money but probably less than a hundred bucks. Better images, size and composition would help. I like it.

A useful rule of thumb with Joan of Arc medals is to remember that she did not occupy an official place in the Catholic hierarchy until the 20th Century. Before 1909, she was simply Jeanne d'Arc but in that year she reached beatification, the first level in becoming recognised as a saint. After this time she would have been referred to as Jeanne d'Arc beni, Blessed Jeanne d'Arc and her medals would have borne this title. Her canonisation in 1920 made her a saint so the title changed to Sainte Jeanne d'Arc.

If your medal bears neither of these inscriptions, you can be sure that it dates from before 1909. Don't hold out your hopes on value though. Despite her lack of recognition, medals in her name were produced in their hundreds of thousands for centuries.

Its slightly larger than a penny. Ping test sounds silver and looks silver. Does not have the markings mentioned like St. Or Beni. There is no hint of having a loop removed, but it is worn down on edges.

After researching furthur, I have seen many now that were made in France as Religious Tokens but they were mirror obverse and reverse. This one has that banner flag which is curious.

Based upon what you all have said and what I think....its an older version of these relegious tokens that they made. How old is the question.

Thank you allways!

Thanks for the updated info and pictures. I still say it has reasonable value. My personal guess is more than $25 but less than $50 in this condition. I looked too for others after seeing your post and have not found this design. I would guess it is earlier 1900's.
I wonder if soldiers in WWI didn't carry these various Joan of Arc medals in France. She is a patron saint of soldiers among other things. I kind of like that it has wear but is identifiable. Looks well loved.
The history of Joan of Arc is worth looking into. I find her bravery and faith most admirable.

An interesting piece. Anyone know what the text on the rev (on the flag) says?
"If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

"The danger we all now face is distinguishing between what is authentic and what is performed."

It should be Ihesus Maria, the text on Joan of Arc's banner.

Hey all, did some more digging. Heres picks of a copy of this medal in Sterling Silver.

The original was made 1900-1909 but how many not sure. It would have had the necklace hoop.

Good for collector piece but not average buyer. Agree no more than $50.00.

Cool! We both do coins. She does alot of reprocessing and such. I handle consignments, expensive and all the investigation work before coins get cleaned or just sold natural state.

Im waiting for my guy Wayne to decide to drop price on Joan of Arc Medal. Thanks!

Got your message

I suggest you change your title
from
1900s France Jeanne D' Arc *Joan of Arc* Silver Medal : #DW106 *Collector Piece*
to
Early 1900's Original Silver Joan of Arc - Jeanne d'Arc Medal France - DW106

The space between D' and Arc is not right and stars might interfere with some Joan of Arc searches.
There is a lot of competition for a vintage silver Joan of Arc medal on ebay. Many to choose from so it might take a long time to sell but I think eventually it would. ebay and Paypal get their fees so your consignor will get less than the selling price where it stands and if you get a commission it's even less for the seller.
The price is right in my opinion but getting it sold might feel like watching several coats of paint dry.

If you had 250 quality posts, you could list it here on CCF eventually. (Read rules)
Most people are looking for a specific medal in the best grade or a super bargain they can't pass up at the price.
I don't know if this medal meets that criteria in either dept.
