I have to assume you are missing the 1909-S VDB because I am missing the 1909-S VDB.

I am also missing the 1922-D "No D" (a.k.a. 1922 Plain, as my Dansco calls it). Do you have that one or did you skip it?

HFJacinto is correct. It's the 14-D. I bought the 09-S VDB from The Penny Lady about 3 years ago. Just recently I bought the 31-S and D from different sellers on ebay. Those 3 coins are actually the highest quality coins in my set. I'd like to at least get my money back on those one day and figured a higher grade coin was the way to go. I also don't believe the 55 DDO is needed to complete the set, but I've been looking. When I was 12 in 1962 (yeah, I'm old) my parents took me and my brothers to Knott's Berry Farm. At the time they had a coin shop (no longer) and in the case they an XF '55 DDO for $300 and I tried to convince my dad it was a good buy. He was unconvinced. $300 was big money in '62.

Nice update - thank you for sharing.

I hope you find the 1914-D of your dreams and complete the set.

Congrats! It's a hard thing to do!

1914D is a tough coin. I rarely see them at coin shows where I may see 5-6 SVDB's.

Another tough, underappreciated coin is the 1931D in red. It took me over a decade to find one and mine is darkish red. What does yours look like?

BadThad, my 31-D is graded RB by PCGS, but in my opinion it looks red to me (i.e. worthless opinion), but I'm happy with it. In contrast my 09-S VDB, also graded RB by PCGS looks more Brown than RB to me. I'll take the win. Guess PCGS won't be hiring me as a grader.

I bought a 14-D from a dealer on the East Coast. Call me a pessimist, but I'm a little wary about this one. Bought it off their website after I saw it listed on ebay. My wariness is due to the fact that the price, though formidable, seems too good to be true. It was priced about 20% below what PCGS says it should go for. I'm almost 75, and one of the life lessons I've learned is "you get what you pay for." Also, why did it go unsold on ebay for so long (I watched it for a couple of weeks)? That said, I'm pretty sure the dealer is reputable. It's graded and slabbed by NGC, and I went to the NGC site and confirmed it had been graded by them and the grade. It's coming via FedEx with a 7 day return privilege. Still wary though.
So anyway, my Lincoln set collection is at least temporarily complete. Still gotta get that '55 Doubled Die though, but there's no space in my folder for that, so it doesn't count. For that matter there's no space for the 4 coins I have, or will have, that are slabbed.

People are scared of raw coins, so it probably sold for raw coin price. Also, the dealer was probably glad they did not have to go through the hassle of getting it graded to sell it. Time is money.
