The people who believe these urban legends are the same people who would be interested in the sale of the bridge I've been trying to peddle for years (note: price just lowered for fast sale). Here's the straight poop from a hoax debunker:

Maybe they should recall it because of the obverse!

The boss tried to convince me again today that I should be returning our nickels too. Sheesh...

Rachael, put him in touch with me. I am certain a person of his stature would be very interested in my offering: mid-19th century, single span, 90% original (only parts of the roof were replaced during the restoration process), painted bright red as befits a classic covered bridge. Shipped disassembled, reassembly directions included. No charge for delivery. Satisfaction guaranteed. Seven-day return no-reasons-asked policy. PayPal only, no credit cards. I'm with you on this one Steve, but I'll have to admit that I did notice things on this coin that I haven't noticed on other coins. Let me explain, I was looking for Terry and his hunting party, and knew I would really have to search. Finally found him dressed as a sunflower and not in his loin cloth as expected.

Maybe we're missing out on an opportunity here. For those who insist that the 2005 buffalo nickel is being recalled and can't be convinced otherwise, we oughtta tell them the mint is offering seven cents for each returned nickel, but that if they give us six cents for each nickel we collect, then s/he can be the one to turn them in and collect the extra cent. Let's see, 500,000 nickels sold for a cent's profit each to the sukka...
(Come to think about it, maybe that's why the truck with all those nickels was hijacked.)
