Hi All,

I'm new to this forum also, but I have been collecting coins for almost.....40 years, wow I am getting old . Anyway, I bought this coin on E-bay a few years back and then sent it in to PCGS to get graded. I would like to know what you guys think it came back graded at. I know it doesn't make that much difference in price in this grade, but I just wanted some other opinions. I didn't scan the reverse, but it definitly doesn't take away from the grade. I now use ANACS so I save money, so I can buy more Morgans...Ok, I'm probably just borderline compulsive! I mostly collect Morgans, and also Walking Liberty Halves. I used to have the whole Lincoln set when I was young, but have sold them all since I had to buy more and more morgans

Cheers,

Mark

Welcome to the forum!

Based on the obverse image, I'd say F12. This could change based on pics of the reverse. It's hard to judge without the reverse pics because the breast feathers are an integral part of the grading on this coin.

Welcome to the Forum !!

Based upon your pic the coin looks borderlineF- VF and being a CC I would tend to think that PCGS leaned high VF-20 from one view its a little tough .

I'm going to say F15 from PCGS, VF20 from anybody else. A perusal of Heritage's archives brought me to this conclusion. Of course, the reverse could have a bearing on the grade, but generally the obverse is the lesser of the faces and the grade is based on the worst side.

I note from looking at a_whole_lot of Heritage photos that ANACS seems to be the grader of choice for Morgans.

Well, that's why you're a successful dealer, and I'm not.

You won't stay in the business very long if you can't manage to grade coins.
