The one shown here appears to be a fake. There is a very pronounced seam easily seen over the word AMERICA.
I am fairly certain that the obverse is a shell and a mismatched reverse has been placed inside it.

Thanks all for the opinions. I'll withhold my excitement or disappointment until I get a couple of more expert opinions. If it's a fake, I'll be sad. If it's not, it may be the first one found. Either way it's different.

I do understand what Bill is saying the seam is an indication of a fake this process is done to fake rotated dies shaving the coin and putting another coin on top There are alot of creative counterfeiter's out there that try to produce good fakes the coin also looks like a die rotation so the individual that faked this coin said I have two fakes on one coin a rotated die fake ,and wide AM 1995 fake. I do believe it;s a fake

The reverse design on this coin is not the typical wide-AM as was used on proofs that year...like ALL of the other mismatched reverse coins, which ARE of the proof design for that year.
This design most closely matches the design abandoned after 1985. The shape of the letters is not right for any coin minted during the 1990s.
Given the seam, the rotation, the very incorrect design, and the fact that this is the only example known, I am relatively certain this one was manufactured from two separate coins.

Thanks coppercoins. I was waiting for your input on this. Guess I won't be famous for this one. Oh well, back to looking through thousands of coins.

Just a curious question on this coin.
Why would someone go to the trouble of making this look like a "NEW FIND" IE 1995 WIDE AM and not line it up properly- instead have a huge die rotation error on the reverse which to me would bring it under closer scrutiny.
Did he/she possibly see Bill Crawford's coin (1996 Wide AM) and want to mimic that one?

Well ,maybe because, he probably has more made like this one when he sees this one may possible take off as authentic, and gets slabbed as a rotated die and 1995 wide AM, which would be a very scarce coin ,and a huge premium he would sell the ones that he made and will make a great profit just a thought

Wouldn't a well known TPG like PCGS,NGC, ANACS be able to catch it as a fake?
