WoW! so much help! Thanks.
Coin weight is about about 2.5 to 3 grams, on a kind of cheap,
Jewelers Security Products, scale.
As the real one would weigh 4.18 grams it looks worse and worse..
Rest assure I did not tap it hard at all as I did consider
the damage and I new he did not mean I should hammer it.

Let me just say, my luck does not run along the line of:
Find the lucky, amazing, valuable coin in the bunch.
I just thought it was worth a try. I found the right
place to ask for sure as you have all been so nice.
Yes, there are more coins and I will be asking questions so
expect more Dumb sounding questions from me....:)
don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about these
"pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters,halves,and
Morgans from heaven" but it is no easy task getting
to know your stuff, even a little bit!
So yes I'll be back, says THE COIN TERMINATOR,
in the mean time I am not tossing this coin but
I'll put it back in the safe so at a later date
someone else can worry about it..ha ha
good luck to them.
In the mean time I'll try another few coins..any suggestions :)
Morgans anyone?
Thanks to all of you again for your time.
G
p.s. when I ask about another type of coin or bill do I
have to go to another area of this site? or can
I ask about any coin / bill right here?
BOY, I'm a real handful of trouble, SORRY.

Although it is counterfeit, It can still potentially be an underweight piece that still used gold as the metal. Don't give up on it completely. You need to see if it is still gold.
