The earliest Star notes were printed in 1910 and carried the signatures of Vernon / McClung. Here is one of the very first star notes. Known population: 33.........Back in those days, the star note was the same serial number as the note that it replaced.

Another very rare fancy is called the 'scrambled digits fancy'. By moving the digits around, you can make all sorts of interesting number combinations.

I think that is John Hancock dressed up like an Indian. Photo taken immediately after the Boston Tea Party.
