drdave Pillar of the Community United States 721 Posts	Posted 04/04/2013 9:45 pm I'm very new to Morgan dollars, but not new to the hobby. I've been looking through my collection and found this and wondered if it is a possible clash of the eagle's wings under liberty's eye. The clash overlay shows it is close but not quite right. SsuperDdave Moderator United States 23522 Posts	Posted 04/05/2013 8:02 pm Has to be PMD of some sort; you won't see a clash in an area which is recessed as deeply as that on the die. Further, you can see the displacement of metal towards the southwest. Report this Post to the Staff

aladinslamp Pillar of the Community United States 3076 Posts	Posted 04/08/2013 6:16 pm Always start with the date and mint mark positions in order to confirm any VAM,,Clashes occur on many different vams, they could be used as secondary pick up points.. Start with a far date with your coin, then figure if its high / low ect mint mark locations.. Report this Post to the Staff
