7 boxes of halves from last week had 2 1964's, 7 40%ers, some NIFC's, a silver plated 1971 and a few more holed coins Picked up 6 boxes of halves today. 2 40%ers and a Walker, a 1987 proof, and 2 NIFC and of course another holed half.

Went to the bank today and decided to take my chances and ask for any half dollars they had. Teller said someone just brought some in. They had 8 dollars worth and I got them all. Ended with a surprise: 1970-D in very nice condition. 1966-P Those are my first finds for silver half dollars and what a find it was.

Wow a '70-D for your first silver? That's amazing luck. Most of us hunt for years before finding one as they were only in mint sets.

Congrats Gruver - you did something I have been wanting to do since the year the 1970s were made! I finally gave in and bought mine 2 years ago!

Picked up 6 boxes tonight. Only had time to go through 3 as they seemed to be a continuation of the boxes from Monday with half of the coins edge marked. Found 6 40%ers and a 2010.

Good finds - especially the 1970-D. WOW!
Did not get to do my two boxes this week. Had family issues and the like. Plan on e-mailing the head teller I order with and asking her to order three for next week. This way, the order request will be in well ahead of the deadline time.
Hopefully, I will find something worth keeping. Last four to six boxes have been quite disappointing. On the other hand, I have been blessed to find some decent sterling over the last two weeks.
