alganbagerap Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 2490 Posts	Posted 02/01/2012 7:36 pm This is quite common and here is a partial explanation taken from an old thread: "Ghosting is the result of improper balancing of obverse and reverse designs with regard to their metal requirements. The height of relief of a large head for example, absorbs most of the limited amount of metal in the coins and the reverse is therefore sometimes slightly blurred, and a "ghost" of a head tends to appear in the field of the reverse." andyg Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 1324 Posts	Posted 02/02/2012 2:18 pm In 1926 George V had his head redesigned to avoid this problem of being a ghost. It was quite common until that point. In times gone it probably wasn't worth a premium, but stick it on ebay and make a big deal out of it and you never know what will happen.
