enworb: So do I. Nice coin, well photographed.
Interesting exercise for you: Can you trace the water line from the top of the coin (above the '2', all the way through to the bottom, underneath the platypus' bill?
It is rather faint below the '20' on this proof, but is more obvious on higher condition circulation coins. It is one line only, continuous.

I never noticed that sel! Thats pretty cool.
Every time I try and photograph the proofs the dust shows up so obviously, bit of a shame.
I have 10 others in the post. Im hoping they will be at the post office when I go this afternoon.

I think I collect too many different things... From PNC's to notes, pre-decimals to proofs, silver to sets. The addiction has gone way too far. I guess the question now is: Do you consider coin collecting to be: A) a hobby? B) an addiction? C) an investment? D) a business? E) all of the above My most recent acquisition (sounds like I'm a sophisticate) was Monday: 2012 Lunar Year of the Dragon PNC signed by the actual artist Dani Poon. My post lady goes to see her every Chinese New Year so she always gets it signed for me which is fantastic (I've had 2010, 2011 & 2012 signed):
I admit, I am powerless over $50 notes - to the point that my life has become unmanageable because of this addiction. I am a NOTE-A-HOLIC

I consider coin collecting to be: A) a hobby, B) a field for study, learning and research, C) an unintended investment.
Occasionally, it is also a vehicle for humour! Definition of a coin: 'A disk like metallic object, with funny bumps on'.

I don't specialise in anything, my interest just wanders though different areas of coin/bank note collecting. My current interest is first and last prefixes in decimal paper banknotes. (I'll post some pics on the weekend) All of a sudden I am looking at car registration plates and seeing banknote prefixes... might be time to go to NA (noodlers anonymous) "Hi I'm Roo, its been 2 days since my last noodle"

ok first up is the very first AAA prefix for the $1 Next is the very last 1984 prefix used before it was replaced by the $1 coin

We should change this post's name to: Yesterday I broughtI was at the coin show in Malvern Town Hall. I went to good old Trevor Wikins & showed him some of my Polymers to see if any were of interest to him, but no go. I was wanting a consecutive pair of 1997 $5 Test notes. Book price was $75 each. His price was $65 each. My price was $50 each ($100 for the pair) Our deal was $55 each ($110 for the consecutive pair) That's $40 off book (26.6% off) I got the highest serials that he had, so that was alright.

That lady on the $1 Australian note looks mean and tough, like a mobster.
