I'm not totally sure this is the right area for this, but I'm just curious what other things people collect. Collectors are a strange bunch of people, usually with more than one hobby. I have several. I'll start:

Coins, obviously or I wouldn't be here.

Stamps, very small worthless collection.

Bank notes, very new to this with only a few star notes.

Hot Wheels, several hundred with best one being an error card with the wrong car inside.

Baseball cards, not since the mid 80's early 90's. I have no idea what I have.

Mineral specimens. My dad is a rock-hound/mineral dealer. I get a lot of stuff for free.

Bibles, I have a large collection of Bibles. My oldest being a 1922 children's Bible that looks like it just came off the shelf.

So what about you? Do you have any crazy collections of stuff?

Josh

OK, here's where I may seem a bit odd. I collect Zebco 909 reels (I have all the model variations from first to last issue) I started collecting these because my favorite reel as a kid was a Zebco 909.
I also collect wine corks from my favorite bottles. Needless to say I have more corks than reels.

I am focused only to coins and notes. I used to collect stamps and some movie memoraphilia as a child but then wanted to focus only to collect money. Basically I am person who wants to collect different things but I have also very strong antimaterialist side. That's why focusing only to money collecting.

I'm down to mostly coins now but in the recent past I collected:

1.Sports cards and autographs
2.Stamps
3.Disney
4.Shot glasses
5.Starting Lineup figurines
6.Superbowl pins
7.Ticket stubs from famous games.

So as you can see I threw a lot of good coin money away on junk when I was younger.

Besides coins, I collect Penn State football memorabilia. Autographs of former players, old game programs, ticket stubs and what not. Collected Starting lineups back in the day, McFarlane Sports Picks a few years ago but gave them up.
I intend to live forever. So far, so good...

Working on a Dansco 7113 from circulation.

I find it kind of weird that those who collect coins also collect guns. Who would have thought. I also collect guns and then just for kicks I collect fish I for some reason really like having a fish tank or two.

I also am quite a bibliophile. I of course have myriad coin books, but I also have billowing collections of hardbound and leather-bound books. Much in the same way that I buy coin holders, I also buy protective sleeves for the dust covers of my books since I want to keep them in good condition. In terms of genres of books, I go for history, science fiction, other forms of fiction, and global cultures/politics/international relations.

I will say that one nice thing about having a large collection of books is the fact that they are not as obvious of a thing to steal, so I really don't have to worry about thieves preying upon it.

I facet and collect gemstones.
Yellow sapphire is my favorite.
Most of my gem rough material is sourced from Anakie, in Central Queensland.

Bibles? Not exactly, but I bought at auction a very large pulpit bible commentary, printed in the 1620's from woodcut blocks. It was in poor condition but repairable. I thought it was too valuable for me to keep, so I gave it to a Pastor buddy of mine.

I also have a very old English farmhouse clock (grandfather) clock. It was originally sold new in Dover, in 1795.

I used to collect antique clocks and pocket watches, but gave that up when I got married 9 years ago in order to put as much money as possible toward a house, our son's college education, etc. I just got into coin collecting last year. Collecting coins is slightly cheaper and has the advantage that I'll still have money no matter how much I spend on the hobby, but I still need to be careful about going overboard.
