As for the 2010 Heritage Set...http://www.ebay.com/itm/2010-Hertag...em46010196af
Downies Auction 310, No: 1751 - 2010 Decimal Currency 1966 Heritage set with replica resin casts of initial coin designs set in solid glazed timber frame with original shipper, the release restricted to 400 sets only and high secondary market value EST $500.00

Maybe he accidentally hit his head & hit his keyboard twice so instead of it becoming $450.00 it ended up $45,000.00.
Anyone could do it......not...

Everyone, here is a funny reply from the person who listed the above set for $45,000:

Quote:
Dear goatieman23,
I have advertised the rareist set of decimal coins ever minted, my price is based on what the coins will be worth in 10 years time. What I am really doing is making it known how rare they really are as most people don't know that they exist. The 400 sets were sold by the mint in 2 days in 2010 for $650 a set, I have seen them for $3500 recently. Good luck with your endevours to collect a set, if you can get it for any thing like that get it as there will be worth a fortune. all 1c, 2c, & 50c coins in total is 1200 coins, it is like getting a set with 3 1930 pennies in it. Yes my price for $45,000 is correct.

If in 10 years that thing is worth $45,000 per coin I will eat my own faeces for the following 10 years. He actually thinks he is sitting on a gold mine, something that will be worth a fortune soon. This type of original buyer is exactly what the RAMs marketing department prey upon and scramble for breakfast. It looks nice framed and I would love to have it on my wall but $45-50k per coin, get lost!

To that moron that was trying to sell that heritage set...
The Downies price realised (yesterday) was $1,600 plus commissions ($1,912).
I think I'll hold onto my $45,000 cash if I had it.

Enworb, that was the only item I put a bid (bidsheet) on. My highest was $525 (after commissions it would have been above $150 each...it realised $1,100 plus commissions, so $1,311.75. Ridiculous...that's $327.94 per coin. To me that's a joke. I've purchased a few things in the past, some which I have now sold & a lot which I have kept. Some things tend to go far too high.

Downie's had one of the Decimal Currency Heritage Sets for $1995 in their catalogue (Mid February one)
Would be interested to know if it sold.

I picked up a set earlier in the year and I hung it up today.

Would be nice if the Royal Aus Mint, or Perth Mint would make a few more sets in similar cases at a more affordable price.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but one of the Decimal Currency Heritage sets has sold, for $3500 (could it be scam sale?)
