I took the photos in the paper/plastic holder. I don't want to touch the coin!? I used my Dads magnifier and my IPhone. I know the photos bad but I will retake and possibly repost them tomorrow when I have access to a better camera and figure out the posting thing! Thanks

Well, what does that mean? I want to have it graded. I think I would regret not doing it!

OK, here they are. They're not such great photos, even though the iPhone is as good as it gets for a phone camera and the OP did a pretty darn good job of doing the best she could under the circumstances: My guess is, "not real." I say that not because of the weakness of the strike - there are valid explanations for this - but only because of the relationship of the 3 letters "ICA" on the reverse. I remain uncertain, though. This needs to get kicked upstairs. MezRDH, email me your city location or reveal it here (depending on your tolerance for such things) so we can recommend a local dealer to have a look.
The best thing about a bicycle is that it uses no gasoline, therefore the chance of fiery death is greatly reduced.

The date looks very interesting but I think the only way to be 100% sure is to have it authenticated by a reputable TPG service. I wish you the best. Will be looking to here more.

Superdave, why would you think I am a "she ". Is this coin talk, referring to the coin?

The first thing I thought was man that looks good...but then I too also questioned why it is so worn...

The coin weighted correctly. Do you "guys" think the coin would be have any value if proved to be a fake? The wear does concern me but my Dad was always looking for coins, anywhere. Auctions, metal detecting, change and he owned slot machines at one time. His father and brother were collectors as well. I will keep everyone informed on this coin and look forward to future comments on my collection. Thanks

the uneven wear has me concerned about this coin. I will be the first to admit I know nothing about Lincoln Cents but usually when you see uneven wear like that it is a sign of nothing good. maybe if you get some better photos we will be able to see the coin better and be able to give a good opinion on authenticity and guide you to what the next steps should be. We are all pulling for you though because if real this would be one heck of a find, we had one come in about 24 hours ago and it looked real but after further investigating it stuck to a magnet, yours has already passed this test so you are one step ahead of the other one

I live in the Dallas area. I was just going to call a national grading service and have several coins graded

My hunch is that it is a casted copy....castings are always notorious for having lack of detail towards the center and less relief.
