Putting my toe into half cents. Please let me know what you think! If I have done my research correctly, it is a C1 - if I am wrong, please let me know.

These are the images from the auction - the patina is better in hand but my photography skills still need work

From what I have read, there are two varieties. On the reverse of the C1, the leaf extends to the right of the last S in States, for the C2 the leaf does not go past the last S. From what I have read for 1826 (and please correct me if I am wrong), there was one obverse die and the two reverses so these are supposedly the only two varieties.

Dont know varieties, but thats a nice coin. Good pick up.
It is could've, would've or should've, not could of, would of or should of.

I got it for $50 - I just could not resist.

(Edit - I had it mixed up with another one. The shipping cost was minimal because it was won with several other lots).

KopperKen, do you really think VF? I was thinking F because of condition and since it was my first one, I bid conservatively!

Very nice cent.

When you photograph, turn off the flash and put it in macro mode. It'll take more realistic looking photos that way.

This site is old, but it still shows a great way to take photos of coins:

What a great site! When things calm down, I am going to work on my photography and definitely refer to this. Thank you so much.

That's a beautiful classic head, looks like VF-ish. Now it should be addicting!
