I'm looking for some opinions please.
I've always had my Franklin collection in a dansco album with an added blank page for Proofs.

Was at the coin shop yesterday and the guy there gave me a free Littleton custom coin album, it's a 3 ring binder style album. I actually like it alot. One other thing I love about it is that it has holes for the Proofs, and even blank holes for varieties.

Anyway, does anyone use these albums? If so, would you recommend them and should I move my collection from the dansco?

1. Not worth moving your coins from one Album to a different one.
2. You could drop a coin or two during the move. You could scratch a coin making the move. You could accidently do any thing you shouldn't during such a move.
3. I'm a Whitman Classic Album person but if I had to make a decision on Dansco versus Littleton, I'd throw the Littleton one away.
4. As to the Littleton Album, do as someone else already did to you, give it to someone.
I've only met one person that used to use Littleton Albums and he too eventually changed. If you use the search tab at the top and type in Littleton, you will find out.

I have Dansco albums, but I have never seen the Littleton albums in person. Therefore, I cannot tell you if there are any problems with them.

You have to go with what you like. It seems that you might like the Littleton album.

Well, I think it seems like a nice sturdy album. I really also like that it has the designated proof holes.
It's not that I dislike my dansco... I have several others and thurs great.

I guess this is one of those "what do you like" questions.

I you like the Littleton Album, great. I'm mot even sure why so many are against them and/or just don't like them. Possibly it's the color. All the ones I've seen are Green same as intercept Shield ones. Not sure if all are the same color either. They do have some hard covers though. One thing I've heard complains about is the lack of additional pages that you can buy. Also, many don't like the hinging of the pages. Yet they do turn easier than a Dansco page.
Some people are strange about how the Albums should all look the same and yet never show them to anyone. Many people rave about how richy the Dansco Albums look and again, never show them to anyone.
My only real advise is not to waste time moving coins from one Album to another unless you really just like the Littleton one.

Thanks just Carl.
I am going to leave them in the dansco for now. Maybe I will start another Franklin set to live in the new album! Maybe my buddy at the coin shop knows me too well. He gave me a five dollar album and knowing that empty holes are my pet peeve, figures he will sell me another $1000 in coins. He's a good business man, lol.

I also got a new label maker, so the clear labels in the dansco make the blank half dollar page llol just right.

I don't like those Littleton customs, the pages are hard to turn. Dansco are just the Cadillac of coin albums, in my opinion. As far as proof Franklins, that will dramatically increase the price/value of your set. My coin dealer just sold a complete set of proof Franklins (1950-1963) for $1425.

Yeah, the proofs are taking a long time. I'm doing well, but my biggest problem is actually finding them for sale. I don't like buying on eBay, I have bought all the coins I likefrom local shops and coin shows have just been slim pickins. Fun hunt though.

Not sure where you live but if you don't mind traveling, check to see if there are any coin shows in nearby areas or states. Also, check out on Google or Yahoo about coin clubs in your area.
With coin shows, even if small, get to know any repeat dealers. Ask them what they do with any old Albums that they aquire when buying sets. Many told me they throw them out. I did ask that a long time ago and I then asked if they could bring them to me instead of throwing them out.
Some did and still do and for free. Of course doing that I get almost every brand possible and almost some for coins I have no intensions in collecting. But I do get a lot of ones I need and many of the people I know also get some from me they need and again, it's all free.
The worst part of this system is it makes me start collecting coins I had no intensions of collecting but now do since I have the Album for them. Although mostly Whitman brand since I'm in the MidWest and that is what is popular here, but I do get all sorts of other brands too. And since they are not out on display, no need to worry about appearances like so many do.
