Hi everyone, I received this in an uncleaned lot, and I really don't think that it is Roman. Could it be Greek? I really have no idea. It is about 11mm in width. Any help would be appreciated!

I've found nothing yet.

1st photo looks like four pellets within a square, pellets around.

The reverse reminds me of some contemporary coins of South India.
Nevertheless, there are quite a few instances of the
forepart of a stag being depicted on Greek coins.

Perhaps this coin is a contemporary copy, if this is so,
this leads me to thinking that the original of this coin was Greek, and found it's way to India in trading, where this copy was produced.

Perhaps this musing may prompt a line of investigation.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know of any sites similar to wildwinds where Celtic coins are listed? This might help me narrow it down.

I have a specialist book on English Celtic coins by Commander R.P. Mack, MVO, publ. Spink London,1975. I will have a good dekko through it within a couple of days. May help, but I don't have high hopes.

Other Celtic tribes across Northern Europe also issued coins, but I don't have a reference that covers these. Sear touches briefly on these issues.

UPDATE:-
The pellets are a bit reminiscent of the coins of the Durotriges of Southern England; I have a base silver stater from this tribe, but the markings are nowhere similar enough. I examined 33 plates of coins at the back of the book, but to no avail.
