I am one of the collectors who is eagerly anticipating the new ASE San Francisco Two-Coin Silver Proof Set. I have a major schedule conflict smack-dab in the middle of tomorrow, and I am wondering exactly when the sets go on sale, what the price is, and if it is possible to pre-order them (and if so, how?). I know there are other threads on this topic, but I really need to know this and any input would be excellent.

Thanks

TSS

The fact that I keep my junk silver in a Morgan Dansco says a lot about my budget.

27 out of 97 Morgan Dollars- counting the 1921 I stuck in the 1895 slot.

3 out of 13 CC Morgan dollars.

There is no time listed on the website, nor a price listed.

I agree that there is not immediate need to rush out and purchase the sets on opening day, just so its purchased sometime before the closing bell.

Stiking to meet demand can be a two edged sword. High mintage could actually help the prices of the 25th anniversay sets. Low mintage would go a long way towards the collector value of this set.

A better question would be determining what a high or low mintage count would be for this set. I really don't think that we are looking at a mintage below 500,000 units.

The way that the mint has this thing structured does anyone believe that there is going be 1st strike coins, and is there going to be any value to such a graded classification after the 25th anniversay set where everything was considered 1st strike by all grading companies and PCGS is still accepting coins for such classification.

I do believe that this set will be mainly for collectors. As such I am going in to keep my collection up to date and current. I'm definitely buying 2 sets as a minimum and will be watching the mintage reports to determine if I should be purchasing additional sets.

As long as you have the mint package unopened I think you can send any coin in for first strike that met whatever the requirements are.

As far as value, it probably will have some as that seems to be the case for all coins at the moment with that designation.

Personally I think that is a value that in time will fade as more and more people figure out what it really is or just stop caring unless somehow the mint makes some sort of change to actually have first strikes mean first strike but I doubt that happens

It is on the home page now. It changes over time too.

But you can look at it in their online catalog, under the American Eagle Coins link (on the left).

All pages should be available on your mobile device, they may look slightly different due to size. The page was and is towards the bottom of the mints landing page.

Now with counter!

I ordered two sets today plus a $3 blue velvet box to get the complementary shipping upgrade. PBGS will almost certainly send single sets, and very possibly tow set orders by the FedEx/USPS slow boat. Complementary upgrades get two day shipping, and those who pay $12.95 extra ($17.90 total) get next day air shipping. I will order more sets next week (after payday) and plan to get at least five altogether. I don't have any problem with this mint to demand in a four week window. I would have a problem with open ended mint to demand, like that done for most of the annual coin sets. The 2006 set took way more than four weeks to sell out its 250,000 fixed mintage. It will be very interesting to see what the sales number is when it is posted tomorrow.

Not only will the high mintage lower the sets value, but the fact that all sets are technically First Strikes means it doesn't make sense to pay a premium after market or the extra $18 for the FS designation at PCGS.

Do you think they should eliminate the FS designation on this set or automatically call all of them FS?

I wonder what the TPG's will do with this one. The FS will not add any value to this set!

I won't be sending any into PCGS, let the dealers to the leg work on this one.

Any PR70's sets for sale on eBay yet? What taking them so long?
