This is the first coin in the new Australian Map Shaped Series highlighting native Australian animals. The coin's coloured reverse features the famous laughing Kookaburra. The Perth Mint will issue no more than 6,000 of these coins, each struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver.

Australian is fortunate in that it has a map outline that is attractive to the eye, and is adaptable to NCLT. Combine that with cute and oddball animals, and you can more readily find a marketing niche.

To be quite honest the only interesting thing about this "coin" is how the airtight is made.
To me this isn't a coin but a piece of jewelry or a novelty item.
I do collect NCLT coins but only the ones that look like coins and are at least round.
I do have an oblong 1 dollar note minted in silver though
