A new auction company has been announced that includes some well known players in the coin industry. Longtime auction specialist Julie Abrams is president of the new firm and talks about the partnership of the company formed by Laura Sperber of Legend Numismatics and Morphy Auctions. Julie talks about what kind of items collectors will find in their sales and how they will work to appeal to the numismatic marketplace.

I find it particularly interesting that she mentioned the possibility of offering raw coins. Of course, I would trust anything raw that carried the endorsement of Legend - we know Laura's opinion of doctored coins.

But the major auction houses seem to have forgotten that there are still nice coins to be had raw.

Personally I like that they certify everything before they sell it for added assurance. Can always break it out as a raw collector. The slab also keeps people at the auction from getting crap on it too

Yeah, my opinion would be very different if it were anyone other than Legend vetting the coins.

Dave very true, but I still think they should if for no other reason to protect the coin. The last thing you need is some auction worker putting their grubby hands on it or something. At least an after market slab of some sort so no one can touch it
