hope this pic works.is this error unusual stumpy leg in dollar

Is this error common in 1 dollars? any opinions or info please?
hard to see in picture but the rest of the L is

Haven't seen that one before. I would suggest changing the subject though, as some people may not think 'test' is anything of interest. Give the thread a name that will make people want to see what it's all about. Stumpy leg is good.

As with the 50c it's not an error coin. This one has just been hit with something. Both coins are only worth spending.

Thank you secretsquirrel I thought they may have bean error coins but wasn't sure.Could you tell me how to tell if a coin is a genuine split planchet or just damaged.

Here's a genuine split, both sides of the coin. You can tell from the graininess of the metal inside the split.
