I went through 2 Fed boxes over the weekend and found 7 40% silver. I keep hoping to find alot of silver in a box, but realize this is unlikely. I guess at least I am finding a few, but I really miss the boxes of a few yars ago where finding 30-50 40% silvers was common.

Silver Eagle - how long ago was it that you could find 30 to 50 silvers in a box?

Gothic Florin - Roughly 4 years ago, in early 2005, I could pull 30 or more 40% per Brinks box almost on a weekly basis. In mid 2006, is when I noticed silver started drying up. I began searching FED boxes about 2 years ago, but have never really had too much luck with them. Funny thing is, I've never found more than 20 pieces of silver per any FED box. I wonder if everyone else has similar stats when comparing the two types of boxes. The "thrill of the hunt" keeps me going and it is a very fun hobby.

Went to the bank today and they had 4 rolls. Bought all 4 rolls.

Ended up finding 2 40% Silver Halves. 1 - 69 and 1 - 65.

Not too bad for 4 rolls.

I don't think it was me.....considering that 50 pence is worth about 83 cents if you convert the pound to the dollar but then again I probably would trade a 50 pence coin for a Kennedy half.

The Kennedy half is heavier than UK 50 pence coin.

I did notice that the 97 is smaller than the 81

Did you downsize your coins?

After a long run of skunk boxes had a four decent ones this week. Got four proof Bens and two other decent ones along with an 82-s Washington Commemorative. Got a bunch of nice clad s mint clad coins (looked like someone broke open a bunch of mint sets and dumped them into the sorter with barely any marks) - totaled about 50 silvers. Felt like dream boxes with 20 coming out of one. Maybe I finally made it past the $10,000 in dumps that must have gone into the previous months boxes!
